Toddling and Teething

Mummy and me have had a busy couple of months. At the end of February we all got a sickness bug - one after the other. Then me and Daddy had colds. I was not very well after my MMR injection, and I have just spent the past 3 weeks suffering with my back teeth coming through. I woke up feeling a lot better today and have been happy playing and giving lots of kisses and cuddles.

I am getting very brave at walking without holding on, but still need to hold my arms out in front in case I fall - Mummy says I look like a zombie. I bought some new shoes yesterday, my old ones got dirty and scraped from playing in the back garden. I love being in the garden and playing with all my toys out there, I have got a swing, slide, see-saw, trampoline and sand pit, and play with Rachel's toys as well.
We have had a few nice days out recently - these include Calke Abbey with Grandma and Grandad, Barton Marina, Tubby Bears Play Den and to local garden centres. Mummy is off work at the end of May, so hopefully we will have some exciting days out then.
Mummy says this is the last time I will be writing on this page, Daddy is letting me use the family blog to let you know how I am doing. Thank you to all of you who have read this blog over the past year, I hope you have enjoyed it.

A big wet sloppy kiss and lots of love to all of you.

Happy Birthday to Me

As I am sure you know, it was my first birthday yesterday, hooray!!

I know weigh 21lbs 12 oz and have 10 teeth - watch out I bite.

I had a fantastic birthday, with loads of nice presents and lots of money, please Mummy can we go shopping??

Mummy bought me a big balloon with a number 1 on, which I had lots of fun playing with. Grandma and Grandad came round in the morning with some presents for me, and helped Mummy get ready for my party.

As a treat I went to the Seven Wells pub for dinner with Grandma, Grandad, Uncle Nick and Jack. It was good fun and made a change from having dinner at home.

After a big sleep and a little play it was time to get my party dress on and help Mummy finish getting ready for the party. Most of my family came for tea, Mummy tells me there were 18 people altogether, it was a bit of a squeeze.

My presents included clothes, stacking rings, a pull along snail, bath toys , a lullaby teddy and an 'In The Night Garden' poster for my bedroom. I also got some money, so I want to go shopping, but Mummy is working extra at the moment - maybe next week??

We had a wonderful party tea with lots of different food that I hadn't tried before - the trifle was very nice and I really liked the birthday cake - it was Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy from 'In the Night Garden' (my favourite programme on CBeebies).

After everyone had gone home and I had got my pyjama's on, I sat and played with my new toys with Mummy. It was nearly 9 o' clock when Mummy took me to bed - tired and happy.

Nearly One

Happy New Year!! I went to Nana and Grandad's for New Year and woke up just long enough to get a few kisses and join in with 'Auld Lang Syne' then went back to sleep.

Mondays are fun days for me - Mummy doesn't do many jobs in the morning and we go to Soft Play so that I can have lots of fun playing and climbing on all the different things - I love going down the slides and playing peepo through the tunnel. There are lots of other babies there as well. Last week I took cousin Jack and Uncle Nick so they could have a play too. Nick liked coming down the slide as well - though he wasn't supposed to.

Sorry, I got kicked off the computer before I could finish this and can't remember what I was going to put.

Christmas

Christmas is fun!!!! When I got up on Christmas morning there was a stocking at the end of my cot with presents in. Me, Rachel and Gemma all took our stockings into Mummy and Daddy's room and sat on their bed opening our presents. I had lots of yummy chocolates in mine.

When we went downstairs there was a really big pile of presents for us all - lots of wrapping paper for me to eat. I have had lots of books, clothes and toys, as well as more chocolates. My favourite toy is the sit on Pooh bear aeroplane. It has lots of sounds and lights and different shapes to push through the holes. Rachel likes pushing me round when I am sitting on it, but sometimes she goes too fast and I fall off.

We went to Auntie Helen's for dinner, but I had had such a busy morning that I fell asleep in my highchair. Then we went to Uncle Nicks for tea, where I had fun playing with all Jacks new presents. Mummy says I was a really good girl all day.

I don't like going to sleep early, just in case I miss something exciting, but Mummy doesn't mind because it means I sleep late in the morning so she gets a bit of a lie in.

Ooh goody, Mummy has just got a bottle of milk for me, must go.

Hope you all had a good Christmas.

Mummy is mean!!!

Sorry I haven't written sooner, but mummy banned me from using the computer until I started sleeping at night - I tried telling her all my fans would be upset but she wouldn't listen.

I had been keeping Mummy busy until about 8.30, then up again about 11.00, then again at 2.45, usually until about 4.15. Now though, Mummy has got me a gro-bag, which keeps me warm and I am sleeping a lot better.

I am nearly 10 months old now, and last time I was weighed I was nearly 21lbs - will be more than that now with all this yummy food I am eating. I really enjoy finger foods, but make a lot of mess. Mummy is really pleased with me today, I ate really well from a spoon and enjoyed her sausage casserole she had made. I also enjoy cucumber and apple as finger foods - nice and cool on my gums (and my 7 teeth).

Daddy is very busy at the moment rehearsing for Pantomime, the show starts next Friday. We went to see him and Gemma practising today - it looks really funny, but I get bored quickly so Grandma will be looking after me when Mummy goes to see it. Daddy has to wear funny clothes and I didn't recognise him when I first saw him in costume.

I have been a poorly little girl recently - first I had an upset tummy, then I got a bad cough and cold, then just after I had got over that one I got another cold a few days later - I am still snuffly and hate having my nose wiped, but mummy makes it into a game so I soon start laughing again.

I have been out quite a lot with Mummy, to garden centres and shopping centres. The new centre in Derby is very pretty with all its sparkly decorations and there are lots of pretty twinkly lights that mummy keeps showing me - she says they are Christmas lights, but I am not sure what she means. What is Christmas??

Teeth

Once again I have neglected my faithful readers, but I am here now!!

I was 8 months old last week, and now weigh 19lbs 6 oz.

Last week was pretty miserable for me - 3 new teeth came through all at once, ouch :-( I now have 6 teeth, 4 on top and 2 at the bottom.

Not done anything really exciting recently, Mummy has been working extra, so Daddy has been looking after me more, which is nice. Daddy is cool and makes me laugh!!

Mummy really embarassed me a few weeks ago - my friend came round to play, and Mummy was dunking her biscuits in her tea - I am sure Megans mummy noticed, I was so disgusted at her I nearly sent her to the naughty step!!

Megan then took me to Music Time, where I had loads of fun. Lots of new children I hadn't seen before were there and we did lots of action songs and played with the musical instruments. It was great fun but quite expensive - Mummy says we can go again soon though.

Sorry this is short, but I am ready for my dinner - will try and write again soon.

Mischief :-)

Mummy says I am mischief - I don't agree, I am just very busy learning about my world.

I am not sorry for the delay in writing this, I have had so much to do and learn and seem to be changing every day, I just haven't had time.

I was at baby clinic again on Monday and now weigh 18lbs 10oz. None of my friends were there, so we went to Little Tykes toddler group to see Diane, my childminder, and have a play with all the toys. I have stayed with Diane a few times now while Mummy has been working, she is really nice and friendly and there are always lots of other children for me to play with, and some great toys as well.

I have now got 2 teeth and some more on their way - they hurt sometimes, but Mummy has got magic make better medicine and special cuddles that make it alright.
This means I can eat lots more different foods and try to eat the same as Mummy and Daddy - the Indian tonight was very nice but Daddy says he will not change my nappy tomorrow, he thinks it might be smelly!!

I had a fab time on Saturday night, Mummy and Daddy were at a barbecue with some friends from Daddy's drama group and they decided to take me with them thinking that I would fall asleep in the car and then stay asleep all night - how wrong they were!!! I woke up as they were getting me out of the car and then stayed awake all night (till 11pm). All their friends were really nice and came to say hello and talk to me. Can't wait to see them again.

Two weeks ago I started to crawl, and now there is no stopping me. I am always looking for new things to explore and places to go - Mummy keeps saying 'No' but I don't understand what that means. I have great fun reaching for the tissues and trying to get to my money box, which is on the fireplace, but Daddy has put a big cage around the fire so I can't get to them - but it is my money and I like doing girly shop :-( Mummy spoils me though and buys me little treats when we go out.

I had a special visitor a few weeks ago, Mummys friend Marianne was over from Australia and brought her baby, Jacob, round to visit me. He is very nice, but unfortunately already has a girlfriend back home - he says I can be a special girlfriend for when he comes back to England to visit. It was very nice to see him, and Mummy lets me read his blog - he has got some cool pictures on there.

Just thought of another 'first' for me - we went to an Ecofeast at Markeaton Park and there was a band playing that Daddy wanted to see, I had good fun dancing to the music, but soon got tired out and fell asleep while Mummy and Daddy were still listening to them.

Speaking of sleep, I really must go to bed now - I have got a new friend coming to play with me tomorrow morning.
Zzzzzzzzzz.
